Here is the list of information we need to complete your return.

 

Special items for the year 2010:

1.      New Vehicle Sales Tax Deduction (needs to be a brand new vehicle, not new to you). Please bring in your purchase agreement for the vehicle.

2.      First Time Home Buyers Credit AND Replacement Home Purchase Credit, please provide us with your closing statement for verification.

3.      Energy Credits. Please include invoices for all qualifying purchases in 2010 (it must be installed by December 31, 2010). Also needed is documentation from the manufacturer that the item qualifies for this credit.

4.      Additional Energy Credits for the State of Michigan:

·         Energy credits up to $375 for qualifying home improvements & Energy Star Appliances (same documentation as mentioned in number four is required).

 

For your Income items, please include:

1.      All W-2 & 1099 forms from your bank and investment companies.

2.      Any 1099 forms for the sales of stocks, bonds, property, or broker account statements.

3.      Information on any small business or rental you may own and/or operate.

4.      Any other tax forms you may receive in the mail.

 

For your Deductions, please include:

1.      Estimate of medical expenses paid in 2010 if over $3,000.

2.      Amount of property taxes you paid in 2010 (this may be on your interest form)

3.      Total of your state of MI license tabs paid in 2010.  

4.      Interest paid on your home in 2010 (should be on a 1098 form from your bank).

5.      Donations given in 2010 (please supply receipts from the charities).

6.      Number of donation miles driven in 2010.

 

         Questions and Other Information we may need:

1.      Did you make or do you plan to make an IRA contribution for 2010?

2.      Do you have a “Health Savings Account?” If yes, please provide the paperwork.

3.      Please list child/children’s name(s) & age(s) as of December 31, 2010 that you are claiming.     

·         If a new child, please include full name, birth date, and social security number.

4.      Do you have childcare expenses?

·         If yes, please list dollar amounts paid, the payee’s name, SS #/EIN, and address.

5.      Do you have children in college? If yes, provide the 1098-T form.

6.      Do you have foreign bank accounts?

 

If your tax return has a refund, would you like to electronically deposit it?

(If yes, please provide us with a deposit slip.)
